The Procurement Engineer – Projects & Supplies is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for both project-based and routine operations. This role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, and full compliance with company policies and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery reliability, and compliance.
Conduct market research to source engineering materials, equipment, and services as per operational and project needs.
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure best value without compromising quality.
Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and vendor agreements.
Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and logistics to align procurement with schedule and requirements.
Track deliveries and coordinate with finance for timely payments.
Maintain complete and accurate procurement documentation including RFQs, POs, and supplier evaluations.
Monitor and resolve supply chain risks and delays.
Recommend cost-saving opportunities while maintaining material standards and timelines.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, preferably within engineering, ship repair, or MEP contracting in the Middle East.
Strong knowledge of supply chain management, contract negotiation, and procurement compliance.
Experience sourcing technical/engineering materials and vendor management.
